Kometor

The name KOMETOR is composed of the words comet and door and the Peuerbach city´s emblem also shows a wide open gate in view of the sky. The town itself is known as the „city of stars“. So for the artists it offered a perfect frame of reference for this place.

The KOMETOR is a pentagonal body, also named dodekaeder. In the ancient world this form was said to be the incarnation of the universe and with the rediscovery of the ancient store of knowledge in the renaissance even artists like Leonardo Da Vinci or Albrecht Dürer picked up the pentagonal forms and also Johannes Keppler was fascinated by the „Platonic Bodies“.
